Pages

Overview

Pages are candidate-facing website pages that serve two distinct purposes in Leadline:

  1. Advertising Positions — custom branded pages that present information about the role and the organization to entice candidates to apply
  2. Communicating Next Steps — pages displayed to candidates after they submit their Application Form to inform them of what happens next based on their qualification outcome

→ See 111 - Positions for more information on how Pages are assigned to Positions.

→ See 103 - Application-Form for more information on Application Forms and how they relate to the Page experience.

What are Pages?

Pages are the primary vehicle through which candidates interact with and apply to Positions in Leadline. They are dedicated, custom branded website pages that guide candidates through the entire application experience — from first impression of the role and organization, through to the post-submission experience after applying. When assigned to Positions, every stage of the candidate-facing journey in Leadline is delivered through a Page.

What Types of Pages Are There and Why do They Exist?

There are two types of Pages in Leadline:

Landing Pages exist so that organizations can advertise their Positions publicly in a way that is branded consistently with approved marketing and branding standards — including colors, fonts, employer statements, and imagery. Their primary function is to promote the Position and the organization in a way that entices candidates to apply and encourages them to complete the Application Form once they begin.

Post-Submission Pages exist to deliver a branded post-application experience to candidates after they submit their Application Form. Rather than presenting candidates with a generic confirmation screen, Post-Submission Pages allow organizations to communicate next steps, set expectations, and maintain a consistent brand experience through to the end of the application process.

What is the Difference Between a Landing Page and an Application Form?

A Landing Page is what candidates experience as their first impression of the role and the organization. It displays information about the Position. The Application Form directly follows the Landing Page. Candidates are directed to the Landing Page first — the Landing Page contains call to action buttons that encourage candidates to fill out the Application Form and apply to the Position.

→ See 103 - Application-Form for more information on Application Forms.

Who Creates Pages?

Any user with the appropriate permissions to create and edit Pages can create them.

→ See 125 - User-Permissions for more information on Landing Page creation permissions.

When are Pages Created?

By default, one generic Landing Page, one generic Match Page, and one generic Not-a-Match Page are created automatically when a new organization is set up in Leadline. All additional Pages must be created manually by users with the appropriate permissions.

→ See 504 - Create-Landing-Page for instructions on creating a new Landing Page.

→ See 515 - Create-Post-Submission-Page for instructions on creating a new Post-Submission Pages

Where do You Configure Pages?

Pages are configured in the Advertise > Pages section of the platform.

→ See 101 - Platform-Links for the direct link to the Pages section.

Are Pages Required for Publishing Positions?

Pages are not required to be created in advance, but every Position must have a Landing Page option and a Post-Submission Page option configured before it can be published. Each option determines what candidates experience when they interact with the Position.

What are Landing Page Options and What Options are Supported?

Landing Page Options are what is displayed to candidates when they visit a Channel Tracking Link. It answers the question "what happens when the end user visits a Channel Tracking Link?"-before any information about the end user is collected in the application process. At least one option is required to be selected in order to Publish a Position.

Landing Page - Candidates are redirected to a branded website page advertising information about the Position. A call to action button at the bottom of the page launches the opt-in modal which leads to the Application Form experience after the opt-in modal is completed.

Note: If you plan to post a Position to a job board via integration — such as Indeed — some job boards require the Landing Page option to be set to "Landing Page" before the Position is eligible for posting.

→ See 108 - Job-Board-Integrations for more information on job board requirements for Position eligibility.

→ See 502 - Assign-Landing-Page for instructions on assigning a Landing Page to a Position.

Application Form - Skips the Landing Page entirely, launches the opt-in modal which leads to the Application Form experience after the opt-in modal is completed.

→ See 410 - Assign-Application-Form-Apply-Experience for instructions on configuring this option.

External URL - Skips the Landing Page entirely, launches the opt-in modal which then redirects the end user to an external URL after the opt-in modal is completed.

→ See 411 - Configure-External-URL-Apply-Experience for instructions on configuring this option.

What are Post-Submission Page Options and What Options are Supported?

Post-Submission Page Options are what is displayed to candidates after they click "submit" on the Application Form. It is displayed after all information provided by candidates is successfully captured. At least one option is required to be selected in order to Publish a Position.

Match / Not a Match Pages - After end users click "submit" on the application form, they are redirected to either a Match Page or Not a Match Page depending on their generated Lead Score:

  • Match Page - is displayed if the Lead Score is 50% or higher
  • Not-a-Match Page - is displayed if the Lead Score is 49% or lower

→ See 516 - Assign-Post-Submission-Landing-Page for instructions on assigning Match and Not a Match Pages to a Position.

External URL - After end users click "submit" on the application form, a modal with a custom message appears. After the modal appears, the user is redirected to an external URL.

→ See 521 - Assign-External URL-as-Post-Submission-Page for instructions on configuring this option.

Can a Page Be Shared Across Multiple Positions?

Yes. The same Page layout and configuration can be reused across multiple Positions — this ensures consistent branding across all of your organization's job listings. Pages use Smartlines to dynamically populate position-specific content for each Position it is assigned to.

→ See 123 - Smartlines for full product knowledge on Smartlines and how they relate to Pages.

→ See 502 - Assign-Landing-Page for instructions on assigning a Page to one or multiple Positions at once.

What Sections Make Up a Landing Page?

A Landing Page consists of five sections, each with multiple layout variants available:

  1. Header — Required. At least one is required and no more than one can be added.
  2. Position Details & Job Description — Optional.
  3. Requirements — Optional.
  4. Benefits — Optional.
  5. Call to Action — Required. At least one is required and no more than one can be added.

A Landing Page must contain at least one Header or one Call to Action section before it can be saved — but not necessarily both. You may have one of each simultaneously if desired. Both Header and Call to Action sections contain an "Apply Now" button — the button text can be edited to any call to action wording you prefer.

→ See 506 - Add-Section for instructions on adding new sections to a Landing Page.

→ See 519 - Edit-Post-Submission-Landing-Page-Image for instructions on updating the organization icon image on a Post-Submission Page.

Are Pages Mobile-Friendly?

Yes. All Landing Pages and Post-Submission Pages are fully mobile-friendly. When a candidate loads the page, Leadline automatically detects whether they are on a mobile or desktop device and displays the appropriate layout accordingly — no additional configuration is required.

Are All Section Layout Variants Mobile-Optimized?

Yes. All section layout variants are fully mobile-optimized. There is no need to design or configure a separate mobile experience — Leadline handles mobile rendering automatically for all layouts.

Does Section Order Change on Mobile Devices?

No. The section order displayed on mobile devices follows the same order configured on desktop. Whatever order is set in the Landing Page editor is what candidates will see regardless of device.

Do Videos Play Automatically on Mobile?

No. On mobile devices, candidates must tap the video thumbnail to begin loading and playing the embedded video. Videos do not autoplay on mobile.

What is OG Metadata and Why Does it Matter?

OG Metadata is the image, title, and description text that displays when a link is shared on social media platforms or via messaging applications. When a Channel Tracking Link is shared, OG Metadata ensures that a branded header image and a brief preview of the Position are displayed in the preview card — creating a consistent and professional first impression regardless of how the candidate first encounters the link.

The default OG image for a Landing Page is pulled from the Brand Icon of the Brand assigned to the Position. This ensures that the correct brand identity appears in link previews automatically without requiring manual configuration for each Position.

→ See 132 - Brands for more information on Brands and Brand Icons.

→ See 501 - Configure-OG-Metadata for instructions on configuring OG Metadata for a Landing Page.

What Happens When a Candidate Visits a Landing Page for a Closed or Unpublished Position?

The candidate will see a blank page displaying the following message:

"This position is not accepting applications currently. Check back later."

The candidate application experience does not begin.

→ See 111 - Positions for more information on Position Status and Published Status.

→ See 406 - Unpublish-Position for instructions on unpublishing a Position.

Can Pages Be Previewed Before Publishing?

Yes. Pages can be previewed at any time before being assigned to a live Position.

→ See 503 - Preview-Landing-Page for instructions on how to preview a Landing Page.

→ See 517 - Preview-Post-Submission-Landing-Page for instructions on how to preview Post-Submission Pages.

Can Users Preview How a Landing Page Looks on a Mobile Device?

Mobile previews within the Landing Page editor are not currently supported. To see how a Landing Page renders on mobile, you will need to access the Landing Page URL directly on a mobile device.
