Publish Position
Overview
This playbook covers all supported methods for publishing a Position in Leadline. A Position must exist and have all required metadata configured before it is eligible to be published.
Note: A Position must have all required metadata configured before it can be published. If any required fields are missing, the Position will not be eligible for publishing.
→ See 111 - Positions for full product knowledge on Positions and required metadata fields.
→ See 401 - Create-Position for all supported methods for creating a Position.
Method 1 — Publish from Within the Position Details Page
Best for: Publishing a Position that was just recently created.
- Ensure all required metadata is configured for the Position.
- At the bottom right of the screen, click the "Publish" button.
Your Position is now live and Channel Tracking Links are ready to accept Submissions from candidates.
Method 2 — Publish from the Position Drawer on the Positions Page
Best for: Publishing a Position that was previously unpublished or created earlier.
- Ensure all required metadata is configured for the Position.
- Navigate to the Positions Page.
- Click on the Position from the table to open the Position Drawer.
- At the top of the drawer, click the dropdown button displaying the current Publish Status — either "Published", or "Unpublished".
- Select "Publish" from the dropdown list.
Your Position is now live and Channel Tracking Links are ready to accept Submissions from candidates again.
Method 3 — Publish via Bulk Actions on the Positions Page
Best for: Publishing multiple Positions at once rather than individually. Especially useful when syncing jobs from a connected ATS Integration.
- Ensure all required metadata is configured for the Positions you want to publish.
- Navigate to the Positions Page.
- Use the checkboxes on the left side of the table to select the Positions you want to publish.
- In the bulk actions bar that appears, click the "Update Leadline Status" button.
- Within the drawer, click the "Publish Positions" button.
Your selected Positions are now live and Channel Tracking Links are ready to accept Submissions from candidates again.
Note: If any selected Positions are missing required metadata, a modal will appear identifying which Positions could not be published and what metadata must be configured before they can go live.
→ See 120 - ATS-Integrations for more information on syncing jobs from a connected ATS Integration.
→ See 134 - Position-Views for more information on navigating and filtering Positions on the Positions Page.
