Open Position
Overview
This playbook covers how to reopen a Position that already exists and is currently marked as "Closed". This is distinct from creating a new Position.
Note: This playbook covers reopening a previously closed Position only. For instructions on creating a brand new Position, see 401 - Create-Position.
→ See 111 - Positions for full product knowledge on Positions and Position Status definitions.
Method 1 — Open from the Position Drawer on the Positions Page
Best for: Opening a single Position at a time.
- Navigate to the Positions Page.
- Click on a Position marked as "Closed" to open the Position Drawer.
- At the top left of the drawer, locate the two dropdowns. The dropdown on the left displays the current Position Status — either "Closed" or "Archived".
- Click the status dropdown to display the full menu and select "Open".
The Position is now marked as Open automatically.
Method 2 — Open a Position by Publishing It
Publishing a Position automatically marks it as Open at the same time — you do not need to open it separately first.
Note: Publishing a Position that is currently Closed will automatically update its status to Open. If any selected Positions are missing required metadata — such as a Landing Page assignment or mandatory Position Tags — they will not be eligible to publish and will remain Closed.
→ See 402 - Publish-Position for all supported methods for publishing a Position.
